CollegeGrad.com presents, "Taking Clothing Out of the Equation in the Interview." Watch this video to learn how to succeed in your interview.
Hi, everyone. I'm Brian Krueger with CollegeGrad.com and this is The Job Search Minute. Do you dress to impress? For a job interview, the best approach is to dress not to impress. Don’t get me wrong, what you wear can and will have an impact. But most often any lasting impression made by your clothes will be a negative one. Your goal is to be remembered, not for what you are wearing, but for who you are as a person. So dress conservatively for the interview. Keep the colors conservative with a dark grey or dark blue suit, and a white or soft pastel shirt or blouse. Avoid extreme patters and loud colors. Keep it simple, and keep it conservative. If you don’t have a good interview outfit in your wardrobe, buy one now before you negatively affect your interview. Help the interviewer focus on you as a person.
