LIBERTY’S PROMISE (LP)
Program Officer, Full Time
Liberty’s Promise supports low-income, immigrant youth, ages 15-21, through after-school programs of civic engagement and a professional internship program. We are a dynamic staff of 17 who are dedicated to helping our youth learn about their new communities and realize their true potential so that they may work towards their dreams after high school.
Civics and Citizenship, our flagship after-school program, is designed to provide immigrant youth from all backgrounds with information that will introduce them to their new country, community, and educational system. Our after-school sessions are meant to be friendly and fun, while delving into the topics of civic engagement, college access, and career readiness.
Our internship program, Opportunities Plus, connects hard working immigrant newcomers to professional internships in a wide range of businesses and organizations. Prior to their internship, we lead them through job skills workshops, where they develop their resume and cover letter, and learn about interview preparation and workplace culture. By the end of the program, our youth have gained valuable experience and confidence in securing their own employment in the future.
You can learn more about our after-school civic engagement programs and professional internship program on our website at LibertysPromise.org.
